Probably not a book I'd recommend to many others :( The first part had the makings of an interesting read. A cyberattack (thought to be carried out by the Chinese) taking New York offline (And most likely the rest of the USA too). Eerily similar, to recent events in the 'real world' following a ransomware attack on a number of large businesses across the world.
I expected this to be followed by a fast paced tale of survival, mystery and action as a country learns to cope without all it's essential services, whilst working out who did this and how they might retaliate. Cue the security services holed up in a bunker somewhere, secrets and lies, a huge twist that you never saw coming...
Not quite. Unfortunately, the more of this I read, the weaker and less believable the plot seemed to get. By the end I found myself thinking I probably should of picked another book.
Certainly not terrible, and maybe others will find the light plot more intriguing. For me though it was a 3/5 at best and not a book I'll be talking about much to others.
